Managing protected native birds
Welcome swallows* and Torresian crows* are native and protected in Queensland. They can still cause real problems: swallow* nests and droppings over doorways, loading docks and food areas; crows* tearing open bags, damaging stock, and harassing people and animals.

How can you stop swallows* nesting on my building?
The best approach is non-lethal: proofing ledges and eaves with netting or wire, removing nesting surfaces, and planning work around the nesting season. Active nests with eggs or chicks cannot be disturbed without the relevant permit.
Crows* are damaging property or stock. What can be done?
We start with deterrents and site changes such as securing food and waste, proofing and visual deterrents. Where lethal control is justified, Greyman OPS carries it out once the relevant permit is in place. *Relevant Permit required to be issued from Regulator prior to any control activities.
